Lomega Public Schools bond issues pass

ENID, Okla — Lomega Public Schools patrons approved two bond issue propositions Tuesday.

Proposition 1, for $935,000 would pay for two elementary school classrooms, one of which also would be a community saferoom. It also would fund an expanded elementary cafeteria, pay for two heating/AC units for the gym and other building repairs.

The vote was 139-16, or 89.7 percent, in favor.

Proposition 2 is for $165,000 to buy two new buses.

The vote was 147-9, or 94.2 percent, percent in favor.

School bond issues require a 60 percent super-majority to pass.

School board races were held throughout northwest Oklahoma.

For Waukomis Public Schools, Brandon Carter defeated Darla Eckhardt, 152-83, to win the Office 5 seat.

At Cimarron Public Schools, Steven R. Johnson defeated Joshua Pettus 61-41 for the Office 5 seat.
