Coach Lewallen was in high school, Coach Edsall was in junior high, Coach Pierce had a full head of hair, and no one on the current Lomega roster had been born yet the last time the Raiders had beaten Okarche in boys basketball.  That changed Tuesday night as the Raiders defeated the Warriors 58-36, giving them their first win over their cross-county rival since 1998.

Lomega jumped out to a big lead early.  Noah Snowden scored 22 of his game high 24 in the first half, leading the Raiders to a 32-14 halftime lead.  Dilon Fisher added 15, while Blake Snowden scored all 10 of his points in the second half.  The Raiders outscored Okarche 13-5 in the 3rd quarter before Kaleb Harris and Logan Kroener caught fire in the 4th, combining for all of the Warriors' 17 points as they outscored Lomega 17-13 in the quarter.

Harris led the way for the Warriors with 18 while Kroener added 10.

With the win, the Raiders improve to 2-0.

Lady Raiders Fall to Okarche in Home Opener

The Lady Raiders took a 28-27 lead into halftime in their home opener, but the Lady Warriors pulled away in the second half, handing Lomega their first loss of the season.  Hensley Eaton scored 11 of her 13 points in the first half, while Shelby Russell added nine of her team high 14 and Darcy Roberts scored seven, giving the Lady Raiders a 28-27 lead going into the half.  But the Lady Warriors outscored Lomega 10-4 in the 3rd and 20-12 in the 4th, including 8 for 8 from the free throw line, to seal the win.

Marlo Hunt led the Lady Warrios with 16 points, while Rachel McDowell and Raegan Robinson each scored 10.

With the loss, the Lady Raiders fall to 1-1 on the year, after beating Dover 84-33 last week.

The Raiders and Lady Raiders will travel to Cimarron next Tuesday, November 12.
