Tate Ott Wins State Speech Contest

Lomega FFA Sends Five to State

Five Lomega FFA member traveled to Stillwater Saturday to compete in the State AFR Speech Contest.  Whitney Glazier, Madi Myers, Hadley Ott, Kelby Ott and Tate Ott represented Lomega. To qualify for the state contest, students had to place in the top two at the district competition.  


Competitors are divided by age into four divisions; Novice (grades 4-6), Junior (7-8), Intermediate (9-10) and Senior (11-12), and may choose from five different categories; AFR/OFU, Science, Natural Resources, Agribusiness, and Ag Advocacy and Policy. 


Glazier competed in the Senior Agribusiness division, Myers competed in the Intermediate Science division, Hadley Ott placed 5th in the AFR Novice division, Kelby Ott finished 3rd in the Intermediate AFR division, and Tate Ott won the Senior Agribusiness division.  Kelby and Tate each received scholarships for placing in the top three.
